The music of WoodworX celebrates the Australian emmigrant music that was imported to the land
Downunda with the folk who ended up on 'The Fatal Shore' - either willingly or otherwise. The
music has passed through the forge of the harsh outback and the urban 'push' to become strong and
vibrant. Referring to its roots, but standing proudly on its own two feet.
WoodworX originally started as a collaboration between two Australian musicians - Brian Heywood and Toni Wood - who are based in the UK. They have released one album to date and have played on both sides of the planet in settings as diverse as Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the NAFA convention in Nashville and the Australian National Festival in Canberra. Other commitments mean that Toni is now only available for limited number of bookings but Brian is available either ans an acoustic duo with a fiddle player or in a larger 'electric' ensemble for either concert or Bush Dance bookings (or both!). |
